Hi Rosemary, this vest is a fantastic idea, especially for overseas travel. I remember standing in the queues with my passport and other papers hanging in something round my neck. I wanted to keep it handy and not have to rummage in my bag.

With a vest like that, you can keep it in a pocket and it will be safe. I love the idea of being able to keep a USB in the pockets also, plus a camera and my little microphone for talking on the computer. Looks fantastic. Hope you’re having an exciting weekend Rosemary, we are moving house tomorrow, so will make this quick. regards from Julieanne

I agree with Julieanne, fantastic idea, now where is the men’s version, maybe a travel jumpsuit 🙂

      • Rosemary O'Shaughnessy

Peter, there is a man ‘s ‘version , I bought one for my husband and he is very pleased with the jacket here is the link for your perusal I am delighted to see you back here. All the Best Rosemary

    • I too do a fair bit of travelling and like Julieanne like to keep things handy but I don’t like to hang things around my neck.

I made myself a great outfit a few years ago that I use for travelling. The concept is the same but it looks less like a vest and more like an overblouse or jacket. It has safety pockets built in that also can’t be picked. Keeping passport and other paperwork super safe.

It would also be pretty simple to make a couple of the pockets with zippers.

Carla, I was in the UK on business this week and I was very glad to have my travel clothing to carry my passport phone, etc, as the airline has very strict luggage charges. A big thanks for sharing the pattern and I have a friend who is great at sewing and I will share it with her. I really appreciate your feed back to this blog. All the best Rosemary

Maybe using this travel vest will give the best benefit we desire, aside from that once it is wore feels like very comfortable and handy.

        Hi Candice,

Living in Ireland I travel for work often and it is great to be able to keep my hands free of a handbag and avoid excess luggage fees. I guess you travel often and know a few tips yourself. Take care Rosemary
