Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 For Working On The Go

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Honeycomb tablet is lighter and thinner than the Apple iPad 2, and with its excellent display the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is a major contender as an iPad killer.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 doesn’t have a USB port, unlike some of its competitors…which is a shame.Check out other contenders The Asus Eee Pad Transformer or Acer Iconia

It  has a 3MP rear camera, which is three times higher than the Apple iPad 2‘s camera. There’s also a front-facing 2MP camera.

First off the battery is suitable for all-day tablet use. -about nine hours for everyday tasks.

It also has great side speakers for playing music and movie audio, and plays smooth 1080p video.

It matches the features of other Android tabs: built-in GPS, support for Adobe Flash in the browser (you still have to download it on your own), 1290 x 800 screen resolution, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, the Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core processor and Android tablet app.

In the box Samsung includes a charger, USB cable and earbuds, but no case or docking stand.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is highly regarded as one of the best tablets on the market. It’s smaller and lighter, easy to grasp and not as bulky as a few of the other Android 3.0 tablets- if this is a relevant factor for you.

On the top, the power and volume controls are easy to find. On the top-right you’ll find the 3.4mm headphone jack. There are no buttons on the side; instead, Samsung put the speakers on the side for good, clear audio. On the bottom, there’s just a 30-pin connector for the USB cable.

There’s also no USB port like there is on the Acer A500  or the Asus Transformer (for using an external keyboard).

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 has an incredibly bright and clear screen, too- which is pretty much universally accepted out there- probably the best of all tablets

The Galaxy Tab 10.1 doesn’t offer the same sound fidelity of the Acer Iconia Tab, though, which benefits from Dolby technology in improving audio clarity. Instead, it uses side speakers

The bad:

The lack of ports on the tablet will be a problem for some of you and  If so Consider the Acer A500 or Asus Transformer. We use the Acer with little complaint.

The Good –bottom line:

Sleek, sexy, and light, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is a smart buy for anyone who wants a light and very portable Android tablet.

Its a true alternative  to the iPad 2 with a better screen.

    Hi Rosemary,

    This tablet looks very cool!
I do not have an ipad or any of the newer tablets, but I definitely see where they fit in and I actually really want one too! I have an older model tablet called the samsung Q1 that I only use as a GUI for my automation system that I really like…even though it runs on windows xp tablet.
    Thanks for the thorough review!

    Talk soon,
    Kevin

    Rosemary,
this is a great little toy for most. Now with all documents to be created online, “The Clouds”. This would be the choice.

For USB connections can be expanded with a extention port. I have one and it works well. It has four additional USB port from the original one.

There are always new toys and tools every six months. Now it is just a matter of you doing complete research for getting what you need.

It’s harder these day without to many people such as yourself. Giving us real content to help make up our minds on if this is a toy I need or just want based on it being new.

It is a smart choice for those of us on the go. You have everything you need. The “Wi-Fi” is just what I needed being never home. I can add a wireless printer and ready to do all my global business anywhere.

That battery life is based on if your not a radio person. You will utilize more energy with keeping music streaming and working. That goes without saying if your watching videos all the time.

Just using this baby to get things done. Then you can talk about 7-9 hours before charging. You can always get an additional battery if your like me.

Rosemary, your a great technical supporter in our industry. Your knowledge and support has helped unlimite people daily. I look forward in reviewing your next great find.

Thanks for your kind words. The main point of my site is to let people know there are tools and software out there to make working on the move easier . I do not profess to be a tech genius- but i know because of necessity how hard it is to run a business- particularly on the move. I use a mifi device for internet connection on the move with my tablets–and the cloud a lot and social media. I do manage…. tablets are more useful than some think !

The limited port of samsung galaxy would not be a problem at all if you have an external device that has several ports. But still it would be much better if the developers of this product come up with a way to increase the number of ports in the samsung galaxy.
